First Bullet >> Video

[Hahaha... ha...
So... he's gathered a little. He's not at home anymore, he's got these monsters to fight for him (with no weapon to call his own), and he's not the only one.
But... brr! There was something big bothering him. That thing?]

Did she have to kick me into the cold?
[If he'd gotten warning, he'd probably have thrown on a coat or something - his jacket was sort-of warm, but his forearms were cold, and his fingers too! And his other clothes aren't that good - he got stuck with a jester set of clothes. But he had a reason for this broadcast, as he's looking cheerful, a Pidgey on his head. His Snivy is off-screen.]
So, I was checking the area around here - there's a boat out to another place, right? But there's also a path. Wonder which would be better for us?
[Us being his Pokemon and him, and his possible travel group. He is wondering about the cold a lot, too.] I mean, if this cold gets worse, the water might get frozen. That'd be no good. But if it's that cold, maybe we'd get turned to popsicles for the monsters out there! [He's not sounding serious - because he isn't.]
Also, if you're out there, guys? [as in kiros/ward/anybody else he knows] Sorry I'm late, guess we'll have to meet up somewhere along the way.

Yeah, Pokémon evolve if you train them hard enough. Usually takes at least a month worth of battles to get them to the final stage, sometimes more.

[Buuuut Venus, upon spotting the little Snivy, smirks and fires a Solarbeam off-camera. Then, she performs an Aqua Tail just because.

...Yeah, she gets a little showy sometimes. Go figure.]

...Don't mind her. It's not every day she gets this kind of attention.

[As if time isn't fucked in a world that brings the dead here, anyway. She's used to that much, at least.]

Some people do, but it's not common. More people have no idea what this place is even if they've been here before.

It's Lightning. [Nope, sorry, not letting you call her Light until you..actually remember her. Whoops.] And I've been here for twenty seven months and one day. So yeah, you could say I know a bit.

Well, Solarbeam's not a move you'll be able to teach him on your own. Or buy, for that matter.

[...Which prompts a snicker outta Venus. Oh yeah.]

I got the TM last year around Christmas. Still, you could probably at least teach yours to use Energy Ball.

[Of course not. But she can certainly try anyway! Make the impossible possible and all that.]

Not really. You get used to it after a while.

[Oh, she's had a lot of people come and go. Lonely doesn't begin to describe it.]

[Only time will tell if that boat actually floats, though. It'll probably sink because, man, Laguna's a stubborn one.]

Maybe. But you still get used to it. It's not like crying solves anything.

[Very afraid. She doesn't think he's going to drop the issue and discussions about feels aren't good in her opinion.]

Which way to go really depends on whether you'd rather explore the Johto or the Kanto area first. Though if you're looking for more people to travel or meet up with, it seems that Johto is where most are to be found.

Elle, hmm? You can find plenty of Pokémon well-suited for a girl, even if she favors insects or mechanical monsters.

Yeah. Some moves you can only teach by talking to tutors or using TMs and HMs... They're like discs you break over your Pokémon's head.

[To demonstrate, he'll scoop out his reusable Solarbeam TM.]

Downside to TMs is that they're typically one-use only. Still, you can get a handful of them at the Goldenrod and Celadon department stores. They aren't required for a tough Pokémon, but they definitely help.

The adventurous type, then?

Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it...

*nods*

Of course. The supplies provided are rather scarce, but if you're careful, you should be able to make it to the next town fine. It's only a few days' walk, in any case, and depending on what sort of pokemon you have, they can often help you keep warm when you do need to camp out.

*...or you can do what Sion did and travel almost nonstop with minimal breaks for rest, but*
